Individual and Family Therapy
Individuals and families in need of one-on-one or group sessions will also receive counseling from CCD staff. Referral – Children are referred to CCD through the school district, and on occasion, parents/guardians. Before a CCD therapist can assess a child, the child’s parent or guardian must sign a consent form. Forms can be obtained through school guidance counselor, dean or administration offices.
Coordinate with Medical Professionals
In the event a child’s condition warrants medical treatment, CCD therapists will consult with school officials as well as local hospital staff.

Psychotherapy is a viable option for discovering ways to change the behaviors in our lives. It is an ongoing process that focuses on growth and change. Through psychotherapy, we talk openly about issues feelings in the hope of becoming more aware of the source of our problems. This openness works for all ages and allows the therapist and patient to work together to find ways to deal more effectively with feelings and behaviors. Due to the unique nature of each case, it is difficult to determine the length of psychotherapy. CCD will keep the patient, family and school aware of treatment status on an ongoing basis.
The Center for Child Development combines cognitive, behavioral and positive reinforcement strategies to assist clients in problem solving.
A collaborative effort between the CCD therapist and the child. During the session, we examine negative thought patterns that are related to emotional and/or behavioral problems and involve the child in solving the problem through self-awareness.
Strategies that engage the student, teacher and CCD therapist in classroom – techniques such as ‘good behavior’ certificates that promote positive classroom behavior. When combined effectively, these approaches can have a powerful influence on the lives of children and adolescents, helping them achieve their goals and realize their potential in all areas of living.
Behavior therapy enables children to learn techniques to reduce negative habits. Strategies include techniques to help children reduce anxiety, stress and obsessive pattern behavior.
A professionally trained parent coach will guide you through the process of making your child a listening machine. Learn how to build a positive relationship with your child, form effective commands that your child will follow, and what to do when your child doesn’t comply. In just 8-10 sessions, your relationship with your child could be completely. Let us help guide you back to a place of daily enjoyment with your child.
